The Illusion of Modern Fitness…

There was a time when people never carried food charts in their pockets, never counted protein grams, and never worried about multivitamins — yet they lived with more energy, peace, and happiness than many people today.

Growing up, neither my family nor the people around me calculated food intake. Nobody cared about protein grams, calories, multivitamins, or diet charts. We simply ate food to live. Meals were simple, natural, and eaten with happiness. Yet people were active, energetic, mentally peaceful, and healthier in many ways.

As a fitness enthusiast, I later entered the modern world of nutrition and body culture. Like many others, I believed I needed to calculate every meal, increase protein intake, and follow strict food rules to maintain my health and physique. I spent years thinking that health could be controlled through numbers and measurements.

But after many years of experience, I slowly realized something deeper. Much of what modern society calls “fitness” is also a mindset created by industries and trends. Today, physical fitness has become a magical word in society — a word used everywhere to sell products, supplements, diets, and fears. People are constantly made to feel that they are unhealthy unless they follow endless calculations.

I tried many times to stop counting food, but my mind always returned to protein goals and nutrition charts. Finally, over the last few months, I returned to the lifestyle of my childhood. I stopped calculating everything I eat. I already follow two meals a day, and now I simply eat healthy, natural food without obsession. Surprisingly, I feel lighter, calmer, more energetic, and mentally free.

This experience made me understand that true health is not just about food calculations or body appearance. Health is also mental peace, inner balance, natural living, and freedom from constant fear about the body. A person may eat perfectly calculated meals every day and still live with stress, anxiety, and unhappiness.

Even though modern society believes that a perfectly fit body means a better or longer life, the truth is that nobody can control life completely. If the time comes to leave this body, even the healthiest person cannot stop it. A healthy body does not guarantee a long life. It only helps us feel more active, energetic, and comfortable while we are alive.

My final understanding is simple: everything is in the hands of time. We can care for the body, eat good food, exercise, and stay active, but life itself cannot be controlled completely through calculations. Time decides many things beyond human control.

So today, I no longer chase health through fear or obsession. I choose balance, simplicity, movement, peace of mind, and trust in life itself. For me, true wellness is not living inside food charts and protein numbers — it is living naturally, peacefully, and accepting life as it comes.
